What is the difference between heat treatment and annealing?

     In fact, to be precise, annealing is a kind of heat treatment.

     Heat treatment refers to a metal thermal processing technology that changes the chemical composition and structure of the surface or inside of the material through heating, heat preservation and cooling in the solid state to obtain the required performance.

The heat treatment process generally includes three processes of heating, heat preservation, and cooling, and sometimes there are only two processes of heating and cooling. These processes are connected and uninterrupted.

     Annealing: heat the workpiece to 20-40 degrees above AC3, after holding for a period of time, it is slowly cooled with the furnace (or buried in sand or lime) to below 500 degrees and cooled in the air.
